AP Tech is thrilled to announce that Kate Murphy has joined them as a student Co-op for the Summer semester. Murphy, a Chemical Engineering major at the University of Cincinnati, will work in the R&D and Quality lab, applying her knowledge from her studies at U.C. to perform lab work while learning about AP Tech’s chemical formulations and their applications for cooling towers, boilers, and closed-looped systems. Murphy is from Findlay, Ohio, and is in her third year of studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Additionally, she is a member of Theta Tau, a professional co-ed engineering fraternity.
In her role at AP Tech, Murphy will work closely with the Quality Engineer to conduct quality control testing in the laboratory, participate in product management projects, and assist in research & development of new products.
Matt Horine, President of AP Tech and U.C. alumnus, said, “This is our fourth Co-op from U.C., and we are again happy to partner with The University of Cincinnati’s College of Engineering and Applied Science to bring students into the realm of chemical engineering. All our Co-ops from U.C. have been outstanding in their work ethics and fundamental chemistry knowledge, allowing them to jump right into applying their skills here at AP Tech. We welcome Kate and look forward to working with her to further her understanding of water treatment chemistry and witness her evolution into becoming a successful engineer.”
